Garden maintenance scheme for elderly and disabled
This scheme could help if you are an elderly or disabled tenant and unable to carry out grass and hedge cutting.
Details of the scheme are set out in this leaflet, together with the conditions you need to satisfy in order to qualify.
Please note that this scheme is NOT covered by Housing Benefit.
How does the scheme work?
Your grass will be cut ten times during the mowing season and your hedges will be cut twice a year.
Grass and hedge cuttings will be picked up.
The cost is £2.82 a week payable for 48 weeks of the year.
All work is carried out between Spring and late Autumn.
This scheme is available subject to the following conditions:
- You must be of pensionable age or registered disabled. (Other medical disabilities will be taken into consideration if supported by the relevant details).
- If disabled, the degree of disability should be such that you are unable to undertake the work personally. (Details of your disability must be provided).
- You have no relatives or friends able to carry out the work.
- You must have a clear rent account.
How to join the scheme
Complete the form and return it to
Property Services Department, Monson House, Monson Way, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 1LQ. We will assess whether you qualify and let you know the outcome.
We will then notify the Contractor who will carry out the work, and add the appropriate charge to your rent account.
