Residents' photos of life in Showfields and Ramslye go on show in Westfield Royal Victoria Place

Photographer who took partPhotographs taken by residents of Showfields and Ramslye are being featured in a special display in the Westfield Royal Victoria Place shopping centre, Tunbridge Wells.

‘Project Snapshot: Showfields & Ramslye People & Places’ captures the character and characters of the two estates through the lenses of local amateur photographers.

Their images are on display at Westfield Royal Victoria Place which has offered the temporary use of an empty shop unit in Ely Court until Friday July 16. They will be on show at the Number One Fun Day on Saturday.

The project was borne of an idea between Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Town & Country Foundation and West Kent College to encourage residents to consider further education.

Community development co-ordinator Alison Baker said: “The project has produced some wonderful photos, a huge sense of pride and has increased aspirations of all the participants.

“We are very grateful to Westfield for allowing us to put the photos on show to a wider audience at Westfield Royal Victoria Place.”
