This was the first of our regeneration projects which aimed to transform the local area over a 10 year period. The Foundation leads the social regeneration programme in Sherwood and delivers a range of projects leading to the following outcomes: Safer Sherwood, Healthy Sherwood, Skilled Sherwood, Prosperous Sherwood, Strong Sherwood, Green Sherwood. The work is detailed in the Sherwood Social Regeneration Delivery Plan 2013 – 2014. A survey completed of 120 residents to see if Sherwood is a good place to live. The results were: 92% say that they want to live in Sherwood, 79% think Sherwood has improved over the last 6 months, 87.5% think service providers work together with residents to improve Sherwood.
Sherwood Lake and Woods have undergone a considerable facelift in the past few months as part of the a £34 million scheme to regenerate Sherwood approved in April 2012. A number of improvements have been completed including a new spillway, a bridge over the spillway and a new pathway to the woods and lake from Greggs Wood Road.
Additional projects have been undertaken by the Foundation including the ‘I Dig Sherwood’ allotment and Herb Garden projects.
