Please also tell us in advance if you’re unwell; if your repair is an emergency, we’ll make special arrangements to get it done. If this isn’t possible, we’ll talk to you about other options to complete the repair or make safe.
Please watch the video below on what we can do to help reduce the risk of Covid-19 during essential repairs and compliance checks.
From 1st April, Countrywise Repairs will gradually be returning to a normal repairs service. This will take some time as they’ll be working through the backlog of repairs reported over the lockdown period. They’re booking in appointments for the soonest available slots, but depending on the nature of the repair, wait times will vary.
When you call us to report a repair, we’ll discuss visit procedures to keep everyone as safe as possible – including what we expect of you and what you can expect of our staff. Our workers continue to follow all government guidance. Please call us if anyone in your household is unwell or shielding or has been told to self-isolate prior to the scheduled appointment, so that we can rearrange your appointment for when it is safe for us to attend
Please make sure you follow all government guidelines while workers are in your home. This includes opening windows and doors to allow fresh air to circulate, providing a clear unobstructed route to the repair to minimise touch points, ensuring that you wear a facemask and that you adhere to social distancing guidelines; where possible remaining in a different room whilst the work is carried out. Thank you for complying with these guidelines they really are important. You can read the guidance about ventilating your home on the government website.
Please be aware that our workers have been instructed to leave a job immediately if they ever feel there is an increased risk of the virus being spread because guidelines are not being followed.
If you have previously reported a repair but have no appointment arranged, please call 01892 501480 and press option 1 to be directed to the Countrywise Repairs customer service desk where your repair query can be dealt with more efficiently.
Gas and Electric checks
We have a legal responsibility to carry out the gas and electric checks as they’re still considered essential works, even during the Covid-19 crisis.
We do understand that people are anxious about allowing workers in their homes right now. We will only make appointments for works or checks that are essential; but we do need you to allow us to do these essential works please.
What you can expect from our workers:
Our workers will observe all social distancing rules and wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Please note:
- We have put in place rigorous risk assessments in accordance with current Government guidelines and statutory requirements, to identify safe arrangements for accessing your home and methods of working.
- In order to comply with social distancing, we will usually request that you stay in a separate room from where we are working; please help us to work as quickly and efficiently as possible by making sure the work area is clear and any personal or valuable belongings have been removed before we arrive.
If you have questions or concerns about what will happen during an appointment, please contact us to discuss this.
Fencing & roofing repairs
For all our roofing and fencing repairs, we use external contractors. Once you’ve raised the repair with us, we then pass this on. They will then contact you directly to arrange an appointment. Our subcontractors remain working and will adhere to Government guidelines when attending your property.
Thank you for your patience.
